A good start. The meter and flow work well together (sorry, grammar nerd here) and that helps move the reader along. You might want to ensure you clarify things like "The two discussed the company’s AP issues" as most folks (at least me, in this case) have no concept of what "AP issues" are.
The level of detail is good and fits well for an online audience whose attention span is often measured in small minutes.

Thank you, sir! I consider myself a grammar nerd as well, although I couldn't diagram half the sentences I write even my life depended upon it. I like to think I've been blessed with an inherent ability to "feel" the writing.
"AP" is the common way to abbreviate "Accounts Payable." Often mated with AR, which is Accounts Receivable. In the context above (which, like the rest of this endeavor, will be based more or less loosely on real life), Kayside and Drakes are in sales, discussing their unhappiness with the company not paying their suppliers. Being sales is hard enough. Being in sales when your company is unable to deliver the product you sell is almost impossible.
